I kinda agree with PS2 having no "meaningful Interaction", but guess what, "meaningful interaction" is having fun with your friends. that is universal in all human activities.
If I had an outfit in PS2 that was fun or if PCLAS decides now to go to PS2, guess who wont be playing Dust514.
I have loyalty for CCP, but I do emphasize more having fun while shooting at rivals than just shooting at rivals.

Woa woa, lets not be fudging douchebags here. PS2 is a complete game. The developers have put time and effort into it. It is moving into PS4. Check Wrel videos and stuff. They are pretty good.
We are better than that. We just dont say "Yea thats **** because it aint Dust". Lets not be that peeps.
I personally feel, apart from my comment above about "meaningful interactions" that Dust feels more "down to earth". In PS2 and other FPS, your character is ******* bouncing and jumping like in .5 Gravity or had an exosuit. Dust feels more bound to the ground, like RL (Play paintball and see if you jump that much and run that fast after 5 minutes).
It is a matter of taste, but lets not forget the facts and lets be with the side of justice, not emotions and passionate, unfactfull arguments.

Missions basically seem pointless.
In every other game I have played, there has been some sort of stated goal, which I have yet to find.
Its like the missions are "Attack This" and "Defend That" which mostly feel like moving the battle from one location to another with no indication of what I need to do other than shoot at things that are not on my team.
This afternoon, it just felt like I went from one place to another, and while a lot of things are fun and smooth (not the control scheme however), it feels directionless and goalless which really puts a dampner on everything.
Even with Dust I could fairly quickly understand what the objectives were and what kind of progress I was making...
Yet that is the whole point of PS2. Tebow just mentioned, "its about the kills". I think that is good but EVE and DUST has much more going on.
I don't know how I feel now. Lets see what happens at Fanfest.

Its odd how much a difference those goals make, at least for me.
I play differently (or at least should if I don't always) in each game mode depending on what that is and how the match plays out.
Maybe its because I am so new to PS2, but I couldn't for the life of me figure it out. It tells me to attack a base, and I go there and kill some people, but I don't know what the objective is other than that. What constitutes a captured base?
Same with defending. I kept hearing how our generators were destroyed, but had zero idea where they were, how to defend them, if it was possible to fix them etc.
I just felt directionless. i kinda feel the same way but i know within time the complexes will begin to feel familiar to me.. there are like computer terminal that you stand near to cap and you get xp.. some of the fights in the complex are totally remeniscent of mag.. i saw the NC do an infantry charge of like 30 over a bridge as I fumbled to man an engineer turret.. another time i took out 4 sunderers and a tank try to crest a hill with a stationary phalanx turret firing HE.. us TR sorta got "redlined" by the VS last night.. we were pushed to the edge of the map couldn't even fly out of the warp gate far.. it ended tho and TR bounced back somehow.. right now i'm just concerned about getting my galaxy beefed up but the valkrie is really fun it almost feels like a dust dropship AND infantry can fire there weapons from it. today my squads have been stupid tho and really hard to pick up. doesn't help that i cant seem to get comms to consistently
Heyo, my character name is Luciferius, shoot me an in-game friend request. We could squad up and maybe even form a Dust 514 Outfit. lol. I hope I don't get banned for talking about PS2 in Dust514.

HEAVY ASSAULT
Resistance shield and shield capacitor - The resistance shield provides a flat resistance to your shields and hp and has long up times without being dpleted from damage. The shield capacitor at max reduces your shield delay by 4 seconds which means you only have to wait 4 or 5 until it kicks in. The nanoweave does not stack wit hthe shield (very common wuestion asked by newbis).
Health kit - Doesn't need explaining lol
Carv 9 lmg - beasty gun, fit a medium range scope on this and a foregrip to negate some of that nasty horizontal recoil. Alternatively use the minigun for cqc because who the fk doesn't like mniguns lol. Fit the quick spool time on the minigun for much faster application of dps.
The Repeater pistol - This thing with a laser to reduce hip fire spread is a fking monster when you master it. There is also the commissioner for masive alpha dps.
Striker rocket launcher - Not so good damage but is very versatile. The rockets auto lock onto enemy aircraft if they are close and when two people have one of these it does wreck anything (seeing 15 people fire these is insane lol).
Whatever tickles your fancy for grenades.
For cqc swap the resist shield for the nanite mesh generator as cqc nothing will allow you to live very long and it basically eats a few rounds and lets you know you're getting shot, think burst tanking. Also swap the capacitor with nanoweave for cqc as you'll need the straight resistance for you're hp.
ENGINEER
This is quite straight forward really
Flak for long range combat as you'll be under a lot of explosive fire and nanoweave for cqc but flak can also be very good there as well. Flak is better if you're max repairing as people will be firing rockets at that for sure.
Max out your rep tool and go to level 4 with ammo box until you're out of things to cert up as the gain is not much as you have prbably seen yourself.
For the turret unlock level 1 of the anti infantry one as it is actually more useful for a decoy, to place a small shield or to semi block of a doorway and shield yourself and others. The av turret is very useful itself and can almost two shot tanks in the rear lol.
Repeater pistol and always have this with the setup i said. It is a monster when you get good with it.
Armistice smg - Laser attachment, reflex site of choice and compensator. This thing is a fking beast in cqc with no need to even ads out to about 30 metres.
Trac5S - Get the underbarrel grenade launcher and smoke launcher with a site of your choice. This is gun is good for it's versatility.
Shotgun - What ever one you want with extended mag and site of choice.
Tank mines for utiltiy. So long as you put these in high traffic areas smartly, you will get kills even if its an hour later. Swap them for claymores when assaulting bases.
MEDIC
Some people prefer the shield capacitor as you can heal yourself anyway, others prefer nanoweave. That's all preference.
For long range combat use the deployable shield capacitor thing as people will be ducking in and out of cover but for cqc the aoe heal is better.
Max your heal tool (obviously lol).
Revive grenades or heal grenades, both are good really but i prefer revive.
TR cycler - Have this thing with a site of choice and the foregrip to negate the nasty horizontal drfit when firing. It is a cqc beast but you can use the armistice on any class as it's an NS (new sovereignty) weapon as well.
Whatever utility you want
INFILTRATOR
This class is pretty much whatever but the stalker cloak only allows the use of a sidearm. Generally i find it's good to use the deployable motion sensor in bases and the motion darts for outside but that's all preference. The class is generally completely whatever anyone wants really as a skilled infi is a beast.
You defo want to get hacking maxed though. This is more useful than i cba to comment about.
LIGHT ASSAULT
Max them jets, whichever one you want.
Nanoweave or shield capacitor are the best really but grenade bandolier is really good for raining some grenades on people.
C4 - I hate LA's wiith this but it's a must on the class really.
Shotguns and smg's are you friend and you can also get the trac5 S on this as well with the underbarrel options.
MAX
Flak is the best if you're getting a dedicated engi as people will fire rockets and throw grenades a you often. If you don't and think you won't get much reps then kinetic armour is the best as you get shot more often by regular small arms. Nanite regen is pointless as you'll never go too long without and engi and you die too quick with it for it to be worth having.
AA setup - Get a setup with two burster flak cannons and have the quick burst sprint perk to get around quicker.
AI setup - Get whatever two guns you want really but the two mini grenade laucnhers are a beast once you get the hang of them. Use the lockdown perk with this to annihilate sht lol.
It is all preference at the end of the day but these fits are generally a beast and contain the stuff you'll want to cert up first. I could have linked you some vids but those do not cover everything and you'll spend hours watching them all.
As a Newb in PS2. thank you.
